Description

This is a postcard from Baja Fresh offering coupons towards a free burrito. They use lots of bright colors and imagery to get the reader's attention.

***

One of the most fascinating things about postcard marketing is that they don't have to be perfect to convert. However, most postcards could always be better (this is one of them).

Copywriting

Baja Fresh includes their slogan in large colored font in the top left which is textbook for copy. We like this copy but the smaller black text is kind of pointless here. They could have left this area blank to give this card some better spacing or enlarge some of the text around it.

Design

This is an interesting design from Baja Fresh on this card. There are lots of flashy colors and they make sure to display some pictures of their food options as well.

The colors and food work well together however this is a little too much going on with this design. The texts fills in every bit of empty space on this card, they could fix this by eliminating some text or taking out one or two of the images.

Offer

The offer is large and on the top right of the postcard. This punch card coupon is a great offer and is going to motivate the reader to try out this restaurant.

We would recommend enlarging the "free" portion to draw more attention to the offer but overall this is a good restaurant offer.

Key Takeaways
  • A lack of spacing can overwhelm the reader
  • Bright colored text and imagery is a great hook
  • Correct placement and large text size is key for a great offer
Description

The back of this card by Baja Fresh is filled with more offers than the front and lists more of their menu options. They also include a small map of where they are located. This is a pretty basic restaurant postcard and they do a good job of making sure their offers are seen.

Copywriting

The copy on this side lists out some example menu items and encourages you to come into the restaurant. They keep it pretty straight forward and there is not much in terms of any detail.

Basic restaurant marketing language is used but it seems to get the job done.

Offer

They include three clippable coupons on this side of the card. They do a good job of making sure the right parts are enlarged so that they can draw the reader's eyes in.

An alternative to the basic map would be a QR code that pulls up directions to the location. This would create more urgency and encourage interaction with the card while eliminating a step for the reader.
